Bigg Boss 9 participant Puneet Vasishtha, who was evicted from the house after an extremely short stay, created a huge controversy by taking panga with Salman Khan. He accused Bhai of being partial towards fellow contestant Mandana Karimi. Read on for his exclusive interview with SpotboyE:
Your stay in the house was very short...
I needed this break and am thankful to Salman Bhai and Bigg Boss. Sometimes, God places you away from the world so that you can see your rights and wrongs clearly. This journey was a life-changing one for me.
After a 'dhamakedar' entry, did the sudden eviction surprise you?
Yes, there was a lot of dhamaka. I was supposed to liven up the show, because it was going very thanda. But when I went inside, I realised they expected a different kind of dhamaka. They wanted me to gossip and backbite. But I am not that kind of a guy; my family values are very high. I have understood that I am not made for reality shows. Coming back to your question, my early exit does not surprise me at all.
Were you misunderstood by Salman and other housemates?
I felt Bhai was a little offensive. But he is such a great guy, I feel he probably wanted to give me some kind of message. It's shocking, some people have said, 'Puneet says Salman Khan is a cheat'. Come on, I never said that. The media has put words in my mouth. They asked me if I thought Salman was taking Mandana's side and I very innocently said, 'Yes, I think so'. But I was seriously misquoted on the 'cheat' part.
There was a lot of furore over your 'foreigner' and 'foreign food' remark about Mandana...
Salman also picked on that. When we were doing the Highway task, Mandana started throwing haldi, mirchi, hit spray and gobi at her opponents. I did say that haldi is not used in foreign food, but Salman and even viewers misinterpreted my statement. They probably felt that I am a Hindu fanatic.

Your clarification did not help...
It was not taken correctly. Bhai gave Mandana's version more prominence and I came out as the bad guy.
You called Salman 'biased'. Elaborate...
Salman is going with the flow of the game. I did feel that he is a little biased towards Mandana, but I could be totally wrong.
Do you think Mandana is trying to gain sympathy by playing the 'foreigner' card? Does Salman have a soft corner for her?
Definitely. It's not the only 'foreigner' card, Mandana is always crying in front of the camera. I feel bhai could be making a mistake by believing her.

You accused Salman of having a personal grudge against you...
I have no idea, I am just trying to make sense of it. I feel I was always unheard when it came to Bhai.
Your 'bid' statement about Shah Rukh Khan was also misunderstood by Salman...
Totally, I never said anything like that.
Do you think Bigg Boss evictions are rigged and Salman plays a part in it?
I am no one to say that whether it's rigged or not. And no comments on the Salman part, he knows better. I hope he gives me some good work as an actor.
Your mention of Digangana Suryavanshi's family visiting you became a huge issue...
I wonder why I was misunderstood there, too. Diggy's family visited me before I entered the house, because they were worried about Rishabh's (Sinha) presence in the show. I went in as Diggy's saviour, but she and Rishabh were so friendly, I again came out looking like the bad guy.

Are you afraid your allegations against Salman will destroy your career?
No, I have been active on television for many years now. In any case, Bhai has not given me any work. Only God can make or break anyone's career.
